Have you ever installed an automatic sprinkler system in your yard?  It takes a lot of work and expense to make it work properly and once it works, you feel like you have accomplished a great task that you can be proud of for years.  The only problem is, the second summer when you turned on your sprinklers, not all of them worked.  That’s when you discovered that you failed to winterize your sprinkler pipes.  Excess water, from your last watering, was still in the pipe and was never properly drained.  When the cold winter months hit, the water froze and expanded and the pipes cracked in several places.  When you turned on the sprinklers the next year, there wasn’t enough water pressure because the water leaked out of the broken pipes.  Lesson learned.
