COMMENTS: Thank you for doing this! It's about time someone took a stand. I’m all for supporting artists but I prefer to keep my support limited to their projects and not their personal lives. It has always bothered me when I come across websites that allow its members to post about artists' personal lives. It's invasive and disrespectful. Most people are not recognized at national/international levels for what they do. Because of our society, these people are recognized for what they do and while there is nothing wrong with that, it's is where the recognition should end. There is no reason for complete strangers to discuss anything else. It is none of our business that they went grocery shopping at Whole Foods on the 9th of August or that they were seen laughing with someone while out one evening and that they must surely be dating. And under no circumstances should discussing and especially slamming family members and significant others be considered acceptable. There are those who need to remember that they are regular human beings as well and that there are boundaries that should not be crossed. To those who see nothing wrong with invading these individuals' private lives, keep this in mind - would you want every part of your life on display? How would you feel if everywhere you looked, your entire life was discussed and dissected by complete strangers? How would you react if you discovered that people were hiding in the bushes, taking pictures of you and then posting them on the web? I'd say you would be outraged and feel betrayed if this happened to you and would do everything in your power to regain your privacy. So, think about that the next time you consider posting an item that invades the rights of your favorite star.

COMMENTS: Given the advancements in media and communication, it's no wonder that the appeal of the "superstar" attracts all different types. It is disheartening to find ever-present examples in the media where an individual's life has been put on display like a celebrity sushi bar, where for a $3.95 rag, patrons pick and choose what they feel they are entitled to. There is one reason, and one reason only that this phenomenon is so successful: people are bored. They have a job they hate (or no job at all), kids they secretly wish would go away, no sex life, etc, etc... I can think of about ten things/people I'd rather be doing besides hedge-jumping movie sets and encouraging my already socially outcast daughters to camp out so they can get me an autograph. But that's just me. It never fails to amaze me, exactly how far people will go, and truly it needs to stop.
